Bijzondere kevervondsten in Nederland (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, Nitidulidae, Dermestidae) Naturalis
Sterrenburg, F.C.F..
Interesting records of beetles in The Netherlands (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, Nitidulidae, Dermestidae) Tachyporus quadriscopulatus Pandellé, 1869 has been recorded for the second time in the Netherlands at Arcen and Velden, province of Limburg. After 27 years, a third record of Carpophilus marginellus Motschulsky, 1858 can be reported from St. Geertruid, in the southern part of the province of Limburg. One specimen was found outdoors, in a wood. One specimen of Anthrenocerus australis Hope, 1843 was also found outdoors, in Oost- Maarland also in southern Limburg, sitting on a flower in a meadow.

Bioluminescent Coleoptera of Biological Station of Boracéia (Salesópolis, SP, Brazil): diversity, bioluminescence and habitat distribution Biota Neotropica
Viviani,Vadim Ravara; Santos,Raphael Machado dos.
Brazil hosts the richest biodiversity of bioluminescent beetles in the world. Several species are found in the Atlantic rain forest, one of the richest and most threatened tropical forests in the world. We have catalogued the biodiversity of bioluminescent species mainly of Elateroidea superfamily occurring in one of the last largest and most preserved remnants of Atlantic rain forest, located at the Biological Station of Boracéia of São Paulo University (Salesopolis, SP, Brazil). This site accounted with the largest diversity ever found for a single place in São Paulo State, with 39 species: Lampyridae (30), Phengodidae (5), Elateridae (3) and Staphylinidae (1). This fauna has unique species that were not found in any other places of Atlantic forest in...

Ergänzungen zur Staphylinidenfauna der Niederlande 1 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) Naturalis
Sterrenburg, F.C.F.; Schülke, M..
Additions to the Staphylinidae fauna of the Netherlands 1 From a total of over 14.000 Staphylinidae, collected in The Netherlands and belonging to the Nationaal Natuurhistorisch Museum at Leiden, the more interesting species were selected for further faunistic study. These species were, according to the last available comprehensive data (Everts, 1922a) either known as rare, non-indigenous or, in one case, as common. This selection was completed by data from other museums, private collections and literature in which way an upto-date review of the occurrence and distribution of these Staphylinidae can be presented. As the data extend over a period of a century, where possible, an attempt has been made to assess changes in the faunistic status. Two species...

Ergänzungen zur Staphylinidenfauna der Niederlande 2 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) Naturalis
Sterrenburg, F.C.F..
Additions to the Staphylinidae fauna of the Netherlands 2 Faunistic and ecological data on Dutch Staphylinidae are presented. Sepedophilus nigripennis (Stephens) is recorded for the Dutch fauna for the first time. Tachyporus abdominalis (Fabricius) and T. formosus (Matthews) must be deleted for the Dutch fauna; all previous records are based on incorrect determinations.

A coleta...

Medically important beetles (insecta: coleoptera) of Iran J. Venom. Anim. Toxins incl. Trop. Dis.
Nikbakhtzadeh,MR; Tirgari,S.
This study focused on coleopteran species that are responsible for the emergence of recent cases of dermatological manifestations in Iran. To the best of our knowledge, five species of the family Meloidae and nine species of the genus Paederus are by far the only beetles recognized as medically important in Iran. The staphylinids consists of Paederus ilsae, P. iliensis, P. fuscipes, P. kalalovae, P. balcanicus, P. lenkoranus, P. littoralis, P. carpathicus, P. nigricornis, while the meloids are Mylabris impressa, M. guerini, Muzimes iranicus, Alosimus smyrnensis and Epicauta sharpi. Most cases of linear dermatitis in this country occur in areas bordering the Caspian Sea. This problem is caused by beetles of the genus Paederus which are present as adults...

Survey of Bioluminescent Coleoptera in the Atlantic Rain Forest of Serra da Paranapiacaba in São Paulo State (Brazil) Biota Neotropica
Santos,Raphael M.; Schlindwein,Marcelo Nivert; Viviani,Vadim R..
Brazil is the country with the largest number of bioluminescent beetle species in the world. However, estimates suggest that this number could much be higher, since many species remain to be discovered. In this work we made a survey of the species of bioluminescent beetles in Serra de Paranapiacaba - the largest remnant of Atlantic Forest in São Paulo State. The survey was done at Intervales State Park, Carlos Botelho State Park and municipality of Tapiraí and the following species were collected: Aspisoma lineatum, Aspisoma physonotum, Aspisoma fenestrata, Cratomorphus besckey, Cratomorphus distinctus, Photinus penai, Photinus sp1, Photinus sp9, Ethra aff. malledicta or axilaris, Ethra aff. adicta , Lucidotini incertae sedis, Cladodes flabellicornis,...

Tabel en verspreidingsatlas van de Nederlandse Steninae (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) Naturalis
Stuivenberg, F. van.
This atlas contains maps for the 79 species of Steninae (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) that have been found in the Netherlands. The maps are based on data from collections and field observations. Diagnostic features, distribution in the Palearctic region and bionomics in the Netherlands are treated for each species. An identification key to the genera, subgenera and the Dutch species is also provided. Stenus proditor Erichson, S. subdepressus Mulsant & Rey, S. assequens Rey, S. oscillator Rye, S. bohemicus Machulka and S. ludyi Fauvel are new to the Dutch fauna.
